CURRENT PROJECTS DANCE4LIFE IN SAMARA REGION Dance4Life is an innovative, interactive, positive, and energetic international collaborative project aimed at providing an opportunity and platform for young people to become more actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Dance4Life is a global statement by and for young people, with dance as the central opportunity for involvement and expression. Dance in its many different forms has a key place in youth culture all over the world and is considered healthy and positive. If you want to get young people on the move, then you have to get them moving. Progressive Youth Union is the general partner of Dance4Life in Samara Region, Russia. Then, Youth Discussion Club is a great opportunity for people interested in social and political life to discuss their perspective of Russia's development in a competent setting. The Club is a joint project of the youth movements "The Progressive Youth Union", "Delo Molodoe" and the Department of Sociology and Political Science of Samara State University. YOUTH GOVERNMENT The Union is a co-founder of the public coalition "Youth Government of Samara Region". It is a group of regional NGOs and public figures that has been established to present an alternative opinion on urgent issues of social, political, economic and cultural life of Samara Region. "Youth Government" puts on its meetings agenda socially important issues and gives recommendations to the Governor and the Government of Samara Region. DEMOCRATIC CLUB The Union is an establishing member of the Democratic Club of Samara Region, which is a free association of organisations and individuals concerned on democratic change in Russia. We are partnering with Russian Democratic Party "Yabloko", Association In Protection of Voters' Rights "Golos", Samara Human Rights Center and other entities. Some Union activists will be running for Samara Regional Legislature in the nearest election in the united democratic list of Party "Yabloko". MEDIA PROJECTS Radio "Samara Maximum" is the main media partner of the Progressive Youth Union. In relation to this there are two programs broadcasted: Radio Show "Rave Time" (Friday, 10 PM, DJs Zoff & MS StanisLove) and Youth Christian Orthodox Programme "Sretenie" (discusses moral issues in the modern world, Thursday, 11 PM, DJs Father Rustic and Maria Nagaitseva). The joint project of the Union and the radio is The Open Public Forum "We Are Young Citizens!". Radio "Samara Maximum" is a partner in broadcasting with Radio Liberty/Free Europe, Voice of America, Deutsche Welle and Radio of Sweden. Listen... 		ABOUT SAMARA REGION
		The Samara Oblast was established on January 1, 1851, and it is located in the south-eastern part of the European Russian territory in the middle flow of the river Volga. Today its territory makes up 53,6 thousand square km and its stretches out from the north to the south for 335 km and from the west to the east for 315 km. The Oblast population is about 3,24 million people, about 80% of which make up urban population. Judging by its economic potential, Samara Oblast ranks among the leading Russian regions. In terms of stability, it has been awarded - by international rating agencies Standard & Poor's and Moody's - the same top rating as that assigned to Moscow and St.-Petersburg. More...
